Job Description
MCH is seeking a part-time Human Resources Assistant that will provide administrative support to the HR department and assist with various human resources functions, including recruitment, employee onboarding, record management, benefits administration, and compliance. This three day/25 hour a week position is eligible for our benefits package.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with recruitment activities, including posting job vacancies, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates. Support employee onboarding and orientation processes. Assist in maintaining and updating employee records, HR databases, and personnel files. Process employment documentation and employee status changes. Assist with payroll preparation by collecting and verifying employee information. Support benefits administration and respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits and HR policies. Monitor employee attendance, leave requests, and timesheets. Prepare HR reports, presentations, and correspondence as needed. Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and confidentiality requirements. Assist in organizing employee training, development programs, and company events. Handle general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and document management. Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately. Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability and retirement plan providers. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Minimum education of a High School Diploma. An associate's degree, two years of college or two years or more of 'on the job training' preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of degree. HRCI, and/or SHRM-CP certification highly preferred.Required Skills/Abilities:
Extensive experience performing a variety of office, administrative and clerical duties. Experience with and a strong aptitude for Excel and other business software programs. Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans. Must speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality. Consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance Ability to edit work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively. Must be detail oriented, with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills Adapts to changes in work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events Problem solving by identifies and resolving problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully Strong interpersonal skills, able to maintain confidentiality and remain open to others' ideas and exhibits willingness to listen and make changes as needed Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
