Job Description

Staffing Assistant, Evenings Monitors workload/productivity of day-to-day staffing and scheduling for System Nursing Services to ensure that resource allocation decisions meet the Hours Per Patient Day targets and patient care standards. Collaborates with Directors/Managers in resolving staffing issues. Collects data on an ongoing basis to provide for long-term trending and benchmark resource utilization for retrospective analysis. Maintains records of each nursing unit that reflects composition of staff, vacancy rate, and turnover rate. Assures the integrity and the availability of the supplemental staffing resources. Ensures state of the art utilization of Scheduling System. Work Experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
1. Coordinates the various phases of Scheduling System including timeliness of data entry, accuracy and security of the system for Shore Health System. 2. Coordinates staffing in collaboration with managers to assure nursing hours per patient day. 3. Prepares schedule for float and system-wide per diem staff. 4. Monitors float/per diem staff for completion of annual mandatories and required work hours and manages payroll. 5. Prepares monthly staffing/scheduling reports and investigates and justifies variances. 6. Assures completion of computerized variance reports for hours per patient day tracking. 7. Coordinates One Umms Staffing and Patient Safety Companions and assures that all necessary documentation is present for required health, mandatory, and competency requirements. 8. Coordinates coverage for patient sitters as requested. 9. Communicates in an effective and professional manner, demonstrating respect for other health-team members.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
High School Graduate, Associates Degree preferred. Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs and statistics to analyze data. Basic understanding of regulatory agencies' requirements in patient care delivery. Benefits

    $18.57-$25.99/hr.
