Position Summary The Human Resources Assistant provides essential administrative and operational support to HR. This role helps ensure HR processes run smoothly, accurately, and in compliance with company policies and employment regulations. Key areas of support include recruiting, onboarding, payroll assistance, benefits administration, employee records management, leave administration, and employee communications. Key Responsibilities Recruiting & Onboarding Post job openings and assist with candidate sourcing and scheduling interviews Coordinate candidate communication throughout the hiring process Manage pre-employment requirements including background checks, drug screens, and onboarding paperwork Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding activities Support managers with onboarding plans and training schedules Maintain accurate onboarding records and personnel files HR Administration & Employee Records Maintain accurate employee data in HRIS systems (hires, terminations, promotions, pay changes, etc.) Prepare employment documents while ensuring confidentiality and compliance Support HR reporting, audits, and recordkeeping requirements Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies and procedures Payroll, Benefits & Leave Support Assist with payroll processing by reviewing timecards and supporting payroll documentation Process contract labor invoices and verify billing accuracy Review monthly insurance invoices and confirm enrollments and deductions Support employees with benefits enrollment and qualifying life events Assist with leave administration including FMLA, disability, unemployment, and PMFL Maintain accurate payroll, benefits, and leave records in HR and payroll systems

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred 2+ years of HR, payroll, or administrative support experience preferred Experience with HRIS and payroll systems preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams) Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills Excellent communication and customer service abilities Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate across functions Basic understanding of employment laws and HR best practices preferred Why Join Thern?
