Position:
Workforce Development Coordinator (part-time)
Location:
Lincoln County Schools
Reports To:
Chief of Postsecondary Readiness & CTE
Terms of Contract:
Lead Teacher Contract; 11 months, part-time; benefit eligible; potential funding may be available to extend the position beyond 2027.
Monthly Salary:
Teacher State Salary Schedule (plus local supplement)
FLSA:
EXEMPT Qualifications /
Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution Career Development work experience in business, industry, or education OR Business and industry engagement in positions such as business development director, community and government outreach coordinator, career counselor and/or career development specialist Completion of the NCDPI Facilitating Career Development (FCD) Course
Goal:
To develop an awareness among elementary and middle school students and teachers career exploration activities. To coordinate and plan activities that promote career and college readiness among a variety of labor markets, with particular focus on the local labor market.
Duties:
Understand and promote student graduation pathways Lead the integration of career and workforce connections into K12 general education Collaborate with Career Development Coordinators to develop Work-Based Learning and career development activities Coordinate the annual Future Ready Expo for high school students Coordinate with Career Development Coordinators employment options for graduating seniors who are going into the workplace Facilitate career exploration activities with school counselors Coordinate with CTE staff to promote enrollment and postsecondary placement activities Coordinate with local businesses and industry all aspects of Work-Based Learning (WBL) opportunities Coordinate with local businesses and industry the annual Job Shadowing experiences for high school students Coordinate with CTE staff career awareness educational trips and experiences Coordinate with CTE staff the Career Exploration Event held at Gaston College Coordinate the summer CTE Career camps for middle school students Support career development activities at LCST Coordinate with Lincoln Economic Development (LEDA) to facilitate local industry tours for students and staff, as well as classroom presentations Coordinate class presentation opportunities with Gaston College staff Promote career readiness initiatives via social media outlets, particularly WBL internship opportunities Must be able to perform heavy work exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of forces frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to lift objects Other duties as assigned
