Job Description
Department Business Office / Human Resources Position Summary Nebraska Wesleyan University is seeking a full-time Business Office/HR Associate who will assist the daily operations of the Business Office and Human Resources (HR). This role will provide receptionist, mail room, accounts payable, accounts receivable, HR, collections and administrative support. Responsibilities Be the face of the business office by providing front office support, answering phone calls and assisting visitors, students, faculty and staff with questions and concerns. Process accounts payables and receivables, including invoices, expense reports, check requests, vendor payments and student payments. Manage the collection process and associated vendors. Maintain vendor records, W-9's, 1099s and support credit card administration. Back-up the HR Generalist with new hire paperwork and personnel records. Respond to parents, students, employees and vendor questions regarding student accounts, payables, receivables, and HR processes. Manage the mailroom responsibilities including the student workers' scheduling. Perform system and file audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance. Complete other administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two or more years of experience in human resources, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, business office operations, or a related administrative role. Working knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, HR practices, and applicable employment and tax regulations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. Strong organizational skills, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Preferred Qualifications Experience in higher education or a non-profit organization. Familiarity with ERP, HRIS, or integrated financial systems.
