Job Description

Posting Details This position will support the New Mexico National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Academy and the New Mexico Job ChalleNGe Academy. These Academies are education programs that supports the New Mexico community. The goal of the programs are to education and prepare students for their futures, while providing a no-cost place for them to live and study in a para-military environment while simultaneously developing life skills. The Youth ChalleNGe Academy is located in Roswell, New Mexico. The Job ChalleNGe Academy is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The incumbent will be expected to support both locations and will work onsite occasionally at both Academies. Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date. The expected hourly rate for this position will not exceed $31.43 Why does the job exist? This position provides basic technical assistance regarding HR functions for the ChalleNGe Programs. It is responsible for recruitment processes including job order requests, posting the jobs in SHARE, certifying applicants, and processing hire packets. The incumbent reviews compensation and position actions for the ChalleNGe Program and verifies supporting documentation for actions; communicates with assigned staff regarding required documentation and assists in completing forms as necessary. They apply salary recommendations based on established guidelines including relevant job factors, appropriate placement, and allowed ChalleNGe Program budget. Position reviews FMLA, ADA, and Worker's Compensation paperwork and submits for approval and processing. Incumbent tracks employee evaluations, ensuring open, interim, and final evaluations are completed when necessary. The hired candidate performs all activities under the guidance of the HR Manager. Minimum Qualification Associate degree in any field. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required education. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License with no limitations or restrictions. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
