Position Summary:
The HR Assistant supports the Human Resources department with a primary focus on full-cycle recruiting and talent acquisition while assisting with day-to-day HR administrative functions. This role is responsible for sourcing candidates, coordinating the hiring process, maintaining applicant records, and delivering an excellent candidate experience from initial contact through onboarding.
Responsibilities:
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition (Approximately 70%) Support full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions. Post job openings on company and external job boards. Source qualified candidates using job boards, social media, networking, and other recruiting tools. Review resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates. Conduct phone screenings and schedule interviews with hiring managers. Coordinate interview logistics and communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process. Maintain the applicant tracking system (ATS) and ensure candidate records are accurate and up to date. Prepare offer letters and coordinate pre-employment requirements, including background checks and drug screenings. Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs. Attend job fairs, recruiting events, and community outreach activities to attract qualified candidates. Track recruiting metrics, including time-to-fill, candidate flow, and hiring activity. Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruiting strategies. Human Resources Support (Approximately 30%) Assist with new hire onboarding and orientation. Maintain employee personnel files and HR documentation. Process employment-related paperwork, including new hire, status change, and separation documentation. Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures. Assist with benefits enrollment and HR administrative tasks. Maintain confidentiality of employee information and company records. Support employee engagement activities and company events. Assist with HR reporting and compliance requirements. Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of recruiting or HR experience, with recruiting as a primary responsibility preferred. Experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruiting platforms. Strong interviewing, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple open positions simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Knowledge of employment laws and hiring best practices. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:
Manufacturing, distribution, or industrial recruiting experience. Experience with Indeed, LinkedIn, and other online recruiting platforms.
