Job Description

Wellness Together is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven HRIS Administrator to serve as the primary owner of our HR technology systems, with a focus on UKG Ready. This role is critical to ensuring our People Operations infrastructure runs smoothly and equitably — supporting everything from payroll accuracy and benefits administration to reporting and compliance across our growing network of school-based staff throughout California. The ideal candidate combines strong technical fluency in HR Systems (UKG Ready preferred) with some hands-on HR generalist experience, and understands the unique operational rhythms of a nonprofit serving K-12 school districts. HRIS Management & Administration Serve as the primary system administrator for UKG Ready, managing configuration, user access, workflows, and system updates Build and maintain accurate employee records, org structures, pay groups, and accrual rules (e.g., vacation, sick, PTO) within UKG Ready Troubleshoot system issues and serve as the point of escalation for employee and manager questions related to HRIS functionality Manage integrations between UKG Ready and other platforms such as benefits carriers Data Integrity & Reporting Ensure data accuracy across employee records, compensation, and benefits enrollment Generate and maintain regular reports for leadership, including headcount, turnover, compensation, and DEI representation metrics Support audit readiness by maintaining clean, well-documented HRIS records aligned with FERPA and other applicable regulations HR Operations Support Partner with HR and Finance to ensure accurate and timely biweekly payroll processing, including accrual calculations and benefits deductions Support onboarding and offboarding workflows within the HRIS, ensuring new hires (including embedded school-based staff) are set up accurately and on time Maintain compliance documentation related to employment law, licensure tracking (where applicable for Mental Health Providers and Wellness Coaches), and leave management Assist with open enrollment configuration and communication within the system Process Improvement & Partnership Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes through better use of UKG Ready's tools and automation features Collaborate cross-functionally with People Operations, Finance, and Program teams to align system capabilities with organizational needs, including the complexities of district partnership cycles Support the rollout of new HRIS features or modules as the organization scales Qualifications Required 1+ years of hands-on administrative experience with UKG Ready (or a comparable HRIS platform, with strong willingness/ability to ramp up on UKG Ready quickly) 2+ years of HR generalist or HR operations experience, including familiarity with payroll cycles, benefits administration, and employee lifecycle processes Strong attention to detail and comfort working with sensitive, confidential data Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain system processes clearly to non-technical staff Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment Preferred Experience working in a nonprofit, school district, or healthcare/behavioral health setting Familiarity with FERPA and other regulations relevant to school-based service delivery Experience supporting a distributed, multi-site workforce (e.g., staff embedded across multiple school campuses) What We're Looking For Someone who brings both technical precision and genuine care to this work.
