Job Description
The Office of Human Resources (OHR) provides the full scope of human resources services for the Department of General Services (DGS) and on a reimbursable basis, to various contracted state agencies. OHR ensures DGS programs and its clients operate within all personnel laws, rules, regulations, and in compliance with all applicable bargaining unit contracts. Learn more about DGS at www.dgs.ca.gov The Department of General Services (DGS) is seeking three (3) student assistants that will work as part of the Office of Human Resources, Medical Management Section, providing assistance in four main areas: Protected Leave, Disability Transactions, Workers' Compensation, and Reasonable Accommodation (RA). These positions report to the Assistant Section Chief, Medical Management Section. The California Department of General Services seeks highly motivated, dynamic individuals with excellent organizational and communication skills to provide administrative and programmatic support. The ideal candidate will work effectively with a variety of groups with a service-oriented approach, while demonstrating emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in day-to-day operations. Conditions of Employment This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause. Depending on the type of position you are applying for, a pre-employment background check consisting of one or more of the following may be conducted: employment history, professional references, criminal check: educational verification (degree, license, or official transcript) or DMV clearance. Prerequisites Must be a college student attending classes during the regular term (Fall, Spring and Winter, if applicable), at one of the accredited colleges or universities on our affiliation list.
