$16.00 / hour Job Description Human Resources Assistant opening for our growing client in Martinsville, VA! This is a contract opportunity 1st shift schedule 3-4 days a week/ 8 hour days $16-18/hrRESPONSIBILITIES
- Post available positions on the company bulletin boards as requested by the HR Rep. Remove job postings in a timely manner and verify the correct hire date for each job bidder.
- Maintain a supply of printed applications in the office lobby and collect the completed applications throughout the day. Maintain an alphabetical file of completed paper applications.
- Coordinate with hiring manager to set up interviews of prospective employees as directly by the HR Rep.
- Assist with new hire orientation, benefits meetings, communication and translation.
- Create and maintain personnel record for all hourly associates. File all employee documentations and changes in a timely manner.
- Assist Safety Manager with maintaining safety and health training files.
- Assist with the preparation of all training materials.
- Assist employees with inquiries connecting them to the proper department, manager or website.
- Provide support to the HR Manager, HR Rep.
REQUIRED SKILLS OR EDUCATION
- 2 to 4 years of experience in a clerical position.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exhibit can-do attitude, strong interpersonal skills, including good relationship-building skills, and the ability to communicate with all levels of employees.
- Possess and maintain excellent time management, strong analytic and organization and prioritization skills, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work on tight timelines.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, pressured environment.
