Office Coordinator•Human Resources Whatcom County Human Resources is looking for an experienced Office Coordinator who enjoys keeping a busy office organized while providing exceptional service to employees, applicants, and the public. As the administrative hub of our HR team, you'll play a key role in supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee services, and the day-to-day operations that help our organization serve over 1,000 County employees. The successful candidate will play a key role in keeping HR operations running smoothly by coordinating office activities, supporting recruitment and onboarding, maintaining confidential records, assisting with financial and administrative processes, coordinating training logistics, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, enjoys helping people navigate complex situations, and can maintain professionalism and confidentiality while interacting with employees who may be experiencing stressful or sensitive workplace issues. What You'll Do As our Office Coordinator, you will: Serve as the welcoming face of Human Resources, responding professionally and courteously to a wide variety of inquiries while maintaining a high level of customer service. Coordinate office operations, schedules, records, and administrative processes that support the HR team. Support recruitment, onboarding, benefit enrollment, and other personnel-related administrative activities. Maintain confidential personnel and administrative records with accuracy and discretion. Prepare correspondence, reports, meeting materials, and other business documents. Assist with purchasing, invoices, budgeting support, and other financial administrative functions. Coordinate training sessions, meetings, and special projects. Support department websites, databases, and office technology. Recommend and implement improvements to office procedures and administrative workflows.

Is self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Appreciates that no two days in Human Resources are exactly alike.
Minimum Qualifications Either:
An Associate's degree in business administration, office administration, public administration, or a related field and two years of progressively responsible administrative or office coordination experience; OR A high school diploma or GED and six years of progressively responsible administrative, office coordination, clerical, or office management experience. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience that demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may be considered. Preferred Qualifications Preference may be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following: Human Resources or public sector administration Supporting multiple managers or professional staff Records management and public records Financial or accounting support Website or content management Developing office procedures or training materials Why Join Whatcom County Human Resources? Salary Range:
Unrepresented•Range 3 Hiring rate depends on qualifications. This position receives annual pay increases to the next step in the associated salary range (apx. 3.8%) subject to satisfactory performance, in addition to any negotiated Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA).
