About the Role Gordy's Marine is seeking an onsite HR Administrator to be the hands-on, go-to resource for the Leaders, Managers, and Team members of Gordy's employees. This position will oversee the entire employee life cycle, from facilitating the hiring process, onboarding, supporting payroll and benefits, and guiding culture and performance.
In short:
being the trusted resource all employees can approach for their questions or needs. The position will be supported by an HR Advisory Firm and will have direct, regular access to experienced HR guidance. What this role requires is consistency, administrative proficiency, follow-through, and a genuine ability to connect with people! Key Responsibilities New-Hire Onboarding Run new-hire paperwork sessions for full-time year-round hires: Form I-9 verification, W-4, direct deposit, handbook distribution and signed acknowledgment. Lead the seasonal new-hire class (batches of 5-20 people), covering harassment and safety training, workers' compensation basics, and paperwork — and personally verify every document before anyone is cleared to work. Coordinate and help deliver the Spanish-language training track for Spanish speaking staff. Enter new hires into ADP, Deputy, and/or Toast and confirm employee IDs are flowing correctly between systems. Give every new hire the building and lakefront tour, make introductions, and hand them off to their manager — you're often the first face of Gordy's a new employee sees. Track and issue Pro Shop uniforms, work permits for 14- and 15-year-old hires, and building keys. Benefits & Payroll Support Set new hires up in Employee Navigator, send enrollment communications, and enter approved benefit deductions in ADP. Reconcile monthly benefits invoices against the master enrollment spreadsheet.
Support bi-weekly payroll:
timekeeping review in Deputy and Toast, hours import, and data entry for bonuses and commissions. Maintain the bonus tracking spreadsheet and confirm payouts process on schedule. Employee Relations & Records Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions and complaints, log them accurately, and route anything substantive to the HOpS HR Manager immediately. Maintain personnel files, I-9 files (filed separately, as required), and other employee records — both physical and in ADP. Field Verification of Employment (VOE) requests according to the company's HR-only policy. Recognition & Culture Run the Gordy's Greats recognition program: process nominations, route for manager approval, issue gift cards, and send the monthly recognition email. Help plan and execute employee events. General HR Administration Manage the building key inventory and issue keys per manager authorization. Handle general office supply orders and mail runs. Maintain the company's I-Pass account (toll transponders for company vehicles). Keep the "Who Does What" routing guide current once published, so requests reach the right owner the first time.
