Responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the Human Resource Department. Administer Company policies and procedures relating to staffing, benefits, safety, training and development and personnel issues as required by company management and governmental agencies. Represent Company to employees, vendors and outside agencies with professionalism, integrity, dignity and respect. Chief Operating Officer Examples of Essential Duties and responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Assist Supervisors and Managers with recruiting, interviewing and selecting employees to fill vacant positions, including posting openings on websites, online portals and other formats as needed. Conduct new employee orientations to ensure a positive attitude toward our company goals and culture. Assist Supervisors and Managers with employee counseling, reviews and training. Ensure that appropriate paperwork is completed and documented in an accurate and timely manner. Handle disciplinary actions and or termination of employees in accordance with our company policies. Maintain, review and update Personnel Handbook and company policies to ensure compliance with Federal, State, County and local laws, regulations and the ever changing employment landscape. Prepare report of new employees for EDD in compliance with all mandatory reporting regulations. Ensure wage compliance at City, County, State and Federal levels for exempt and non-exempt positions. Maintain up to date personnel records, including personal information, insurance, 401k plan, performance reviews, compensation, separation, LOA, disciplinary actions, etc. Supervise Payroll Clerk in coordination with Controller to ensure accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll processing. Provide back-up for payroll processing as needed. Oversee the preparation of OT/DT reports for COO, Operations Manager and Facility Managers. Prepare Labor Statistics report monthly for U.S. Department of Labor. Process benefit plan documentation for 401k plan and health benefit plans Coordinate compliance with all relevant regulations, for example, Family Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, etc. Oversee the issuance of "You Make A Difference" awards as requested. Issue Milestone certificates and Milestone checks to employees as needed. Coordinate and Plan Milestone celebrations. Maintain DMV Pull Notice Program in coordination with Safety Administrator. Process State Disability Claims, Unemployment Insurance Claims, State and Federal Earnings Withholding Orders and other Earnings Withholding Orders for Vehicle Registration, Child Support, Liens, etc. Safety Coordinate safety policies with Safety Committee, Supervisors, Employees and Loss Prevention Representatives and Specialists. Supervise and provide guidance to the Safety Administrative Manager in their role. Assist supervisors with literature for tail gate meetings, accident reports, counseling and developing corrective actions or procedures. Oversee the development and submission of Management reports addressing safety issues, safety committee findings, recommendations. Ensure proper documentation is maintained regarding training, counseling and accident reporting.Benefits
