JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for overseeing an academic program or area, may supervise administrative or program support staff, and may determine staffing needs, schedules, and the use of resources.
Duties include:
developing internal and external relationships and partnerships; developing project plans; providing project status updates and evaluations; planning, conducting, and analyzing research/information; and may be responsible for developing and monitoring budgets.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS N/A. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Coordinates the implementation and evaluation of program goals, objectives, activities, and strategic initiatives; assesses consequences and outcomes of program initiatives. Develops and monitors program and/or project plans; implements and monitors compliance with approved policies, procedures, and processes. Requests, creates, edits, submits to marketing, and tracks the performance of all social media posts for the program; prepares marketing materials. Reaches out and engages with prospective students. Advises students, faculty, and staff on a variety of issues related to assigned academic program area; evaluates students and/or applicants to determine program progress, program adherence, and/or other related issues; and maintains related student files. Researches and analyzes a variety of complex data and information, including student database information; summarizes findings in reports. Develops and maintains internal and external relationships; participates in/on a variety of meetings, committees, task forces, and/or other related groups to communicate information regarding services, programs, areas of opportunity, and/or other information; represents assigned academic area on committees, advocacy groups, and/or other related groups. Meets with education partners to evaluate recruitment strategies and issues. May purchase course textbooks and equipment to ensure materials are ready for students and faculty on first day of class; may analyze assessments or evaluations of training. May coordinate instructors and presenters for training and/or conferences. May submit accreditation and Annual Reports to CEA to maintain accreditation if applicable. May prepare and conduct student events such as orientation, field trips, or graduation. May oversee certification process including preparation and testing. May track courses, students, schedules, locations, and equipment.
Supervises staff to include:
prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations. Assists with budget preparation and administration which include submitting justifications for budget items, and monitoring program expenditures; may assess and process student refunds, transfers, and retakes. May oversee registration or learning management system issues. May oversee assigned grant. Assists with office related duties like answering phones or emails for assigned area. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor¿s degree; four (4) years of related work experience in area assigned; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

TYPE OF WORK

Position Description Job Summary The Workforce and Industry Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations and lifecycle of workforce training programs delivered on campus, including short-term credential programs and contract training aligned to high-demand industries such as manufacturing, IT, healthcare, skilled trades, and emerging technologies. This role works collaboratively with workforce and campus leadership to identify training needs, develop and scale programs, recruit students from the community and current student populations, and ensure high-quality execution from student onboarding/orientation through completion, assessment, and outcomes reporting. The Workforce and Industry Manager support employer-aligned workforce strategies by coordinating program delivery that responds to industry needs and strengthens talent pipelines. Essential Job Functions Program Management & Operational Oversight Manages implementation of workforce program operations including planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and service offerings; coordinates activities between multiple service areas; and integrates program services for seamless delivery. Maintains end-to-end program lifecycle oversight including recruitment and inquiry response; student processing and onboarding/orientation; scheduling and registration support; classroom coordination; completion documentation; assessments; and continuous improvement. Short-Term & Contract Training Program Development Plans, develops, implements, and coordinates short-term and contractual training programs, including industry-based classes, seminars, and workforce training experiences. Assists in program planning, course selection, development, and delivery in alignment with employer needs and labor market demand. Identifies emerging trends and supports new program launches and scalable models across manufacturing, IT, healthcare, trades, and technology fields. Campus Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination Works with college departments (bookstore, business office, registration, room reservations, etc.) to support scheduling, enrollment, and instructional delivery. Partners with faculty, administrators, and key stakeholders to develop strategies that improve program success and student outcomes. Recruitment, Outreach & Enrollment Growth Supports recruitment strategies to grow enrollment and participation, including outreach to community partners, employers, and current students. Responds to inquiries and supports student onboarding, retention, and successful completion through proactive communication and coordination. Assists with marketing and promotion of workforce programs using internal channels and community outreach opportunities. Employer & Industry Coordination Coordinates with employers and workforce partners to align training delivery with workforce needs and talent pipeline expectations. Maintains broad understanding of industry needs across manufacturing, IT, healthcare, trades, and emerging technologies to support responsive programming. Supports employer involvement in program feedback, advisory participation, and talent pipeline engagement. Compliance, State Frameworks & Reporting Ensures program operations comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, standards, and reporting requirements. Collaborates with the State Department of Education and related agencies as applicable to support programs aligned to state standards and reporting. Generates required reports and documentation to support accountability, continuous improvement, and workforce performance tracking. Data, Customer Service & System/CRM Management Provides high-level customer service and timely responses to students, instructors, and internal stakeholders. Maintains organized records, applications, agreements, forms, and program documentation; prepares correspondence and reports as needed. Utilizes CRM and student tracking tools to document outreach, enrollment activity, participation, and completion status. Budget, Resources & Program Sustainability Supports resource planning and prepares cost estimates for program budget recommendations; submits justifications as needed and monitors expenditures. Helps ensure programs are executed efficiently with attention to enrollment, cost management, and scalability. Staff Support and Team Leadership (as assigned) May supervise staff, adjunct faculty, or student workers; supports training, work prioritization, and accountability. Ensures staff follow policies and procedures and contributes to a positive and safe working environment. Other Duties Performs other duties as assigned in support of workforce initiatives and campus operations.
