Job Description

Manufacturing Workforce Operations Manager Location:
West Point, GA Shift:
2nd Shift (flexibility required to support multiple shifts)
Salary:
BOE A day in this role As the on-site leader for the 2nd shift, you arrive before the handoff and scan the latest KPIs—attendance, quality holds, headcount attainment, and downtime. You brief production leadership on safety priorities, walk the floor to verify standard work, and connect with team leads on staffing needs and escalation plans. Throughout the shift, you coach supervisors, resolve employee relations matters, coordinate onboarding and training statuses, and drive countermeasures to hit safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets. Before shift-end, you capture lessons learned, communicate cross-shift plans, and ensure a smooth transition for continuous operations. What you will lead Operations Leadership Own daily 2nd shift production performance against safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.
Track KPIs:
productivity, attendance, quality performance, downtime, turnover, and staffing attainment. Maintain strong cross-shift continuity and execution. Workforce Management Drive attendance, retention, engagement, and performance outcomes. Oversee orientation and training tracking for both new hires and current employees. Support employee relations via coaching, counseling, investigations, and corrective actions. Ensure adherence to company policies, labor regulations, and customer requirements. Quality & Continuous Improvement Uphold OEM standards, customer specs, and internal quality systems. Identify and implement improvements to elevate engagement, efficiency, and workforce performance. Safety & Compliance Champion a safe workplace aligned with OSHA and company policies. Meet customer, industry, and organizational compliance requirements. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 3-5 years in manufacturing, operations, staffing, workforce management, or similar leadership roles. Deep knowledge of workforce planning, engagement, recruiting, and onboarding. Experience with Lean, continuous improvement, and performance management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HRIS/ATS, ERP, and production reporting tools. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities. Preferred Automotive manufacturing background. Lean Manufacturing certification. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt. Knowledge of
IATF 16949, ISO
9001, or similar QMS frameworks. High-volume production experience. Project management experience or certification. Experience managing contingent labor programs or staffing operations. Physical Requirements Extended time on the manufacturing floor. Frequent standing, walking, and movement through production areas. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
