Job Description

Join our dynamic Human Resources team as a Human Resources Supervisor for 1st Shift, where you'll lead and support HR functions to foster a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace environment. As a key partner to the HR Manager, you will drive operational excellence at our plant by leading the HR Specialist team and serving as a trusted advisor on all policy and benefit initiatives. In this high-impact role, you'll manage critical, confidential data with precision while providing strategic guidance to production supervisors, ensuring our leadership team is empowered to support our workforce effectively. Essential duties but not limited to: Manage all aspects of benefits, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including ERISA, FMLA, COBRA, and ACA requirements. Assists in the hourly hiring process, interview scheduling; prescreens applicants for hourly positions, participates in interviews as necessary, and ensures all proper paperwork is complete prior to actual hire Oversee the tracking and enforcement of attendance policies, working closely with production to manage staffing gaps. Tracks and reports to management key performance indicators (KPIs) such as turnover rates, time-to-fill, and overtime trends. Assists members with problems connected with paycheck issues, health insurance claims and disability checks Takes the lead in managing the HRIS and timekeeping system and ensuring other HR personnel are knowledgeable regarding the system Ensures effective member relations daily, provides support to supervisors and team leaders in handling members' concerns, and assists in the resolution of member concerns through problem resolution Counsels, records and applies appropriate discipline as necessary Ensure that the processes in place are followed and completed timely pertaining to member transfers, change in job classification and pay increases, etc. Answers routine inquiries from inside and outside the company on employment verifications, benefits, claim processing and job openings in line with company policy on these matters Assists in human resource department new hire orientation on company policies and programs, signs up new members for various benefits and conducts new member orientation Assists the HR Manager in administering wage and salary policies, notify supervisors of scheduled performance reviews Assists HR Manager in open enrollment process and of the daily administration of new members into medical and dental programs, life and disability insurance and notifies payroll of deduction changes Performs other duties within the Human Resource department as required, including composing and typing correspondence regarding HR reports and procedures Maintains member personnel files in line with company policy Travel as required Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources work Tactful, above average interpersonal communication skills Ability to work effectively with both members and managers Ability to convey a positive and professional image to applicants and members Advanced computer skills (Excel, Word, Access) Working knowledge of HR/ time keeping software Ability to perform independently, accurately and effectively in a high-traffic environment Bilingual a plus
Education &/OR Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required Post-secondary education is helpful At least 4+ years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
