The Director of Human Resources reports to the President or their designee and is appointed as a member of the President's Cabinet and Executive Council. The Director administers and oversees all aspects of human resources including: day-to-day employee relations services, conflict resolution, investigations, disciplines, counseling, policy formulation, implementation, and communication, recruitment and employment activities, classification and compensation, benefits, management of performance and evaluation files, and training and professional development. The Director is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations governing personnel and serves as the Affirmative Action officer in the execution of the college's affirmative action program in addition to the Title IX and ADA Coordinator. This is a Management/Confidential position.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field and a minimum of five (5) years of progressive HR related work, or ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity in human resources administration Extensive human resources knowledge and broad experience across multiple HR areas Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, organizational and presentational skills A thorough knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations is required Experience in collective bargaining SHRM certificationPreferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in human resources, business management or related field preferred Professional experience in a higher education setting, especiallySUNY Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervises the Human Resources department staff Assists in resolving employee relation issues and facilitating conflict resolution between employees and supervisors to promote a positive, safe, and compliant work environment Acts as a liaison between Human Resources, department managers, and union representatives and provides advice and counsel to managers and supervisors regarding human resources practices, policy, and employment laws Maintains up-to-date personnel records and performs credential audits to ensure compliance with accreditation standards. Serves as the college's liaison with the County Personnel Office Serves as the liaison with the Collective Bargaining units of the College and participates in labor-management meetings and collective bargaining negotiations Oversees recruitment of staff and faculty Coordinates faculty and staff evaluation process With input from faculty and staff, develops and administers faculty and staff development and training programs compliant with federal and state training regulations Oversees the conversion of all personnel files into the college's HCM Oversees leave of absence (i.e. FMLA) and ADA/reasonable accommodation requests Works with payroll to prepare annual salary schedules for Teamster and PSA positions Advises President on personnel issues and recommends policies for approval and implementation Reviews the results of investigations related to staff from the Title IX/Compliance Officer, and offer appropriate guidance to supervisors Performs other duties assigned by thePresident Salary:
