Job Description

Position Summary To support Human Resources operations, including onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with organizational policies. Contribute to an efficient and professional workplace by assisting in a variety of personnel-related functions. Minimum Qualifications 1. Proficient in computer usage, including data entry and Microsoft Office applications. 2. Strong written and verbal communication skills. 3. Ability to follow procedures and recommend improvements to enhance workflow. 4. Demonstrates professionalism, accuracy, and integrity in all tasks. 5. Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. 6. Capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Physical Requirements 1. Good physical and mental health 2. Manual dexterity to handle and manipulate instruments or materials 3. Ability to walk, reach, bend, climb, lift, grasp, push, and pull as needed 4. Provide exceptional customer service in all interactions. 9. Proactively anticipate and attend to resident needs. 10. Exceed expectations of residents, families, and coworkers. Essential Duties & Responsibilities 1. Maintain organized and up-to-date personnel files. 2. Perform onboarding duties for new employees including background checks, drug screening, pre-employment health exams, licensure verification, and documentation compliance. 3. Conduct intake sessions for new hires, ensuring completion of all required forms and policies including tax documents, direct deposit, emergency contacts, handbooks, and compliance acknowledgements. Provide parking and facility access information. 4. Track and post attendance timely and issue warnings as needed. Track FMLA days on employee calendars. 5. Serve as a backup for payroll processing. 6. Manage employee benefit programs, including enrollment, education, and updates. 7. Oversee workers' compensation program, ensuring timely premium payments and submission of required reports. 8. Complete and respond to unemployment claims. 9. Post open positions internally and externally; monitor and distribute applicant submissions as appropriate. 10. Assist with employee verification requests (calls and written forms). 11. Coordinate and attend employee and community events. 12. Generate monthly seniority reports and distribute employee evaluations. 13. Prepare and process status change forms for all relevant departments. 14. Participate in union negotiations and grievance proceedings. 15. Attend and represent Good Shepherd Home at career fairs. 16. Conduct interviews for STNAs, RHAs, LPNs, and RNs as needed. 17. Oversee new hire paperwork sessions and facilitate employee orientation. 18. Perform other duties as assigned.
