Role Summary:
The HR Business Partner - Labor and Employee Relations role will besupporting a unionized, manufacturing environment. This role builds strong relationships with business leaders and union partners, providing coaching on HR policies, organizational issues, and labor relations matters. The position drives talent acquisition and pipeline development (including military, technical schools, and intern/co-op programs), promotes diversity and inclusion, and conducts salary analysis for hires and internal movements. It partners closely with HR Solution Centers on total rewards, ensures consistent policy interpretation and compliance with laws and regulations, and leads to the resolution of complex employee issues. The role also supports local UAW agreement administration, including negotiations, grievances, and contract interpretation, while maintaining effective relationships with local union leadership.

Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain an intimate understanding of the client organizations and the business, in the interest of building effective and productive working relationships with internal stakeholders and clients, at all levels of theorganization
Coach business leaders on HR policies and processes
Coach business leaders on key organizational and management issues.
Have a strong focus on acquiring and retaining top talent and on building pipeline for future needs, including strategy for onsite recruiting, technical colleges/trade schools, focused military recruitment initiatives and intern/ co-opprograms
Develop thoughtful, integrated approaches to promote diversity and inclusion in talent attraction, development andretention
Conduct salary analysis and implement for new hires, merit, promotions, equity adjustments and other salarytransactions
Partner with business leaders and HR Solution Centers to assess impact of current total rewards offerings to ensure competitive attraction and retention of top talent while leveraging metrics for keydecision-making
Interpret policies and procedures and provide guidance in a consistent manner to managers, employees, and HR businesspartners
Facilitate the resolution of complex employee concerns, including discipline whenappropriate
Counsel management on corrective actions ensuring consistency and adherence to companypolicies
Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws andregulations
Interact closely/positively with other HR representatives to achieve departmental goals and objectives in a teamenvironment
Execute and partner with the Labor Relations Solution Center to ensure alignment with proactive Labor Relationsstrategy
Understand and execute National and Local UAW Agreements
Support and coach management with respect to a wide variety of labor relations issues
Provide support for local negotiations, grievance handling, contract administration, and other local labor relationsactivities
Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with local union leadership in order to successfully resolve shop floor and contract administrationissues
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resource management, Business Administration, or another related field
- 10+ years relevant experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age and a UScitizen
- Must be able to obtain unescorted access to the facility through the vetting process as administered by the Department of Army Police
- Demonstrated proficiency in communication skills (written, verbal, computer)required
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a teaming environment with unionized workforce to support customer and manufacturingrequirements
- Must be able to work independently or with minimum oversight to addressresponsibilities
- Must have good time managementskills
Experience with unionized workforce preferred Additional Information Availability to work outside regular business hours as needed,to address critical issues. This position may require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance).
