We are seeking an entry-level HR Business Partner (HRBP-1) to join our NEMR team to serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to client leadership teams. This client-facing role is ideal for someone who has strong customer service skills, a good employment law and HR best practice knowledge, is eager to learn, enjoys influencing outcomes, embraces a multi-employer service model approach, and is passionate about HR. Position Summary This individual will work closely with employer leadership, management teams and their staff to understand client goals, workforce challenges, and organizational needs. This position provides strategic guidance, leadership coaching, and HR best practices that support informed decision-making and long-term organizational success. This role has normal and usual transactional tasks (include but not limited to being involved in corrective actions, performance management, LOA, Unemployment, etc.) but is largely focused on compliance, strategy, organizational effectiveness, and helping clients navigate complex employee matters while managing risk. The HRBP-1 plays a critical role in living our mission by building trusted relationships and delivering solutions that make a meaningful difference for the organizations we support. Key Responsibilities Serve as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to employer leadership teams and their staff Provide consultative guidance and HR best practices to help stakeholders formulate decisions and shape policies Coach and support managers through employee relations matters, performance management discussions, and corrective action processes Analyze their assigned client's workforce trends and potential risk areas to recommend practical solutions Support policy development and leadership coaching Ensure alignment between employer practices, business objectives, multi-employer agreements, and risk mitigation strategies May act as a liaison between client leadership and specialized HR functions including payroll, benefits, compliance, and operations Support organizational and change management initiatives Help clients strengthen their HR practices while improving employee experience and organizational effectiveness Conduct and support local in-person client meetings; some travel required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in human resources, or related field preferred Minimum 2 years of HR experience , with some background in employee relations, leave of absence administration, manager coaching, unemployment, investigations, and strategic HR support Strong understanding of HR best praactice and workforce management strategies Ability to balance multiple client relationships and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Adaptability to seamlessly pivot between different client industries, culture and leadership styles Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills Demonstrated desire to coach leaders and provide practical business-focused recommendations PEO, consulting, outsourced HR, or multi-client experience strongly preferred HR certification ( SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR ) preferred What Success Looks Like At NEMR, success goes beyond completing tasks — it is about making a meaningful impact.
