Job Description
Job Summary The YMCA is seeking a strategic and hands-on Human Resources Director to lead HR across multiple branches serving 350-400 employees. This role partners with senior leadership to drive workforce strategy, compliance, employee engagement, and organizational development while fostering a mission aligned, inclusive culture Responsibilities Lead HR strategy, policies, and workforce planning to support organizational goals. Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and talent management to attract and retain top talent. Administer compensation, benefits, payroll, and performance management programs. Ensure compliance with federal and Pennsylvania labor laws, including child protection requirements. Serve as a confidential resource for employee relations, conflict resolution, and organizational culture initiatives. Lead training, professional development, succession planning, and safety programs. Manage HR systems and process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years HR leadership experience; nonprofit/multi-site experience preferred. SHRM-CP or equivalent certification a plus. Strong knowledge of Pennsylvania employment laws and HR best practices. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in HRIS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office.
