Job Description

Richmond Health Care Center is seeking a professional, organized, and compassionate Human Resources & Medical Records Coordinator to join our leadership team. This dual-role position is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and enjoys supporting both employees and resident care through accurate documentation and exceptional organizational skills. Position Summary The Human Resources & Medical Records Coordinator is responsible for assisting with all aspects of Human Resources operations while ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of resident medical records. This position plays an essential role in maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations while providing outstanding customer service to employees, residents, families, and visitors. Human Resources Responsibilities Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new employees. Process new hire paperwork and maintain employee personnel files. Monitor employee licenses, certifications, and annual requirements. Coordinate orientation and mandatory in-service training. Track attendance, corrective actions, and employee documentation. Assist with employee benefits enrollment and leave requests. Maintain confidentiality of all employee records. Support payroll and timekeeping processes. Ensure compliance with state and federal employment regulations. Promote employee engagement and retention initiatives. Medical Records Responsibilities Maintain resident medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Process admissions, transfers, and discharges. Prepare and organize medical records for physician visits and audits. Monitor documentation completion and physician signatures. Maintain record retention and destruction schedules. Assist with state surveys and regulatory audits. Respond to requests for medical records in accordance with legal requirements. Ensure electronic and paper records are accurate and complete. Coordinate with nursing, therapy, social services, and other departments regarding documentation needs. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's Degree or HR certification preferred. Previous experience in Human Resources, Medical Records, or Long-Term Care preferred. Knowledge of HIPAA and employment laws. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office. Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems preferred. Professional communication and customer service skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Preferred Skills Long-Term Care or Skilled Nursing Facility experience. Knowledge of Texas healthcare regulations. Experience with payroll and HR software. Strong attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines.
