Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a Construction Accounting & HR Specialist to join our team and work closely with our VP of Finance/HR. This position will support the day-to-day accounting, payroll, benefits, and administrative functions of the company while gaining broad exposure to the financial and HR operations of a growing commercial construction business. We are looking for someone who is highly organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and interested in building a long-term career with our company. The right candidate will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility over time and grow into a leadership role within the organization. Responsibilities Support the VP of Finance/HR with day-to-day accounting and financial administration Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks and other company systems Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions Assist with customer invoicing, vendor payments, and account management Process weekly payroll and maintain accurate employee payroll records Assist with employee benefits administration, onboarding, and company policies Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger account reconciliations Research and resolve accounting discrepancies Assist with job costing and construction-related financial reporting Support preparation of financial statements, management reports, and other financial analysis Maintain organized accounting, payroll, employee, and compliance records Assist with certified payroll and other government or construction-related reporting as applicable Learn and support additional Finance and HR responsibilities as experience develops Take on increasing ownership of accounting, payroll, HR, and administrative functions over time Required Qualifications Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Excel, Outlook, and Word Understanding of basic accounting and financial principles Experience with account reconciliation Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Strong written and verbal communication skills High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take on additional responsibility Preferred Qualifications Experience in the construction industry Experience with construction accounting, job costing, or project-based accounting Experience processing payroll Experience with employee benefits or HR administration Familiarity with certified payroll, prevailing wage requirements, or government contracting Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable Growth Opportunity This position is intended to be a long-term career opportunity .
