POSITION TITLE
Human Resources Generalist
REPORTS TO
(TITLE): Regional Human Resources Director
EMPLOYEE PAY STATUS
Non-Exempt
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Generalist will develop programs, implement best HR practices, provide overall input on HR issues to management, and act as a confidential contact for employees.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
:
  • Perform data management of staff credentials and licenses, medical records, and performance reviews.
  • Implements human resources initiatives and programs that effectively support the core values of the company.
  • Coordinates the performance management process, ensuring performance appraisals are done on time and are consistent with core values.
  • Facilitates new hire orientation and ensure staff attendance and compliance.
  • Ensures company compliance with human resources legislation. Maintains and updates HR documents such as, but not limited to, Employee Handbook, Performance Management Forms, and Job Descriptions
  • Handles all aspects of HR administration: tracking probations, new employee orientations, collection of survey information, etc.
  • Handles all aspects of recruitment including preparation of postings, screening of candidates, maintenance of job posting sites, coordination of interviews with managers.
  • Maintain confidentially of work records.
  • Coordinate and oversee employee relation investigations
  • Administer workers compensation, federal and state leave (FMLA) and unemployment claims
  • Facilitate communication among employees and management and provide guidance as needed on disputes, disciplinary actions, and regulatory compliance
  • Prepare clear and concise reports, written and online, correspondence, and other written materials.
  • Other duties as assigned
Education and Licensing:
  • Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, preferably with a concentration in Human Resources.
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in human resources, preferably in an HR manager role
  • Excellent interviewing skills
  • Good oral and written communication
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work with a senior management team to implement policies and ensure compliance
  • Excellent employee relations skills Knowledge of Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation
  • Knowledge of compensation analysis and salary administration
Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrates knowledge of compliance issues within the behavioral and/or acute care hospital environment.
  • Maintains confidentially of patients at all times.
  • Proficiency with software and/or equipment (Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Sensitivity to, willingness to interact with, persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively as well as possessing the skills to lead, influence, and motivate others.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, expanding organization.
Physical Requirements :
While performing the duties of this job, this position is frequently required to do the following:
  • Use standard office equipment and access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. Use computer keyboard with manual and finger dexterity and wrist-finger speed sufficient to perform repetitive actions efficiently for extended periods of time.
  • Communicate effectively in person or via telephone in a manner which can be understood by those with whom the person is speaking, including a diverse population.
  • Give and follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Perform complex mental functions and basic arithmetic functions; interpret complex laws, regulations, and policies; collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information.

  • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Reach forward, up, down, and to the side.
  • Sit or stand for minimum periods of one hour at a time and come and go from the work area repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Lift up to fifteen (15) pounds.

$31.25 - $37.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
