Job Description
Jenny Bour with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support a manufacturing operation in the Forestville, New York area. This HR Generalist role partners with leaders and employees across the organization to manage day-to-day HR activities, promote a positive workplace culture, and help maintain compliance with employment standards. The HR Generalist position also supports recruiting, onboarding, benefits coordination, leave administration, and employee development in a fast-paced production environment.
Manage employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, employment changes, separations, workforce reductions, and required documentation.
Serve as a primary resource for employee relations matters by addressing workplace concerns, guiding issue resolution, and promoting respectful communication.
Administer leave programs, including state and federal paid or unpaid leaves, and ensure all related records and paperwork are completed accurately.
Maintain timekeeping and time-off processes by reviewing requests, supporting time clock administration, and keeping attendance records current.
Conduct initial applicant screenings, organize new employee orientation, distribute personal protective equipment, and help employees begin role-specific training.
Track training completion and performance review timelines, maintain training documentation, and coordinate learning sessions to support job readiness.
Support benefits administration activities, provide employment verifications, and assist with insurance-related paperwork and workers' compensation reporting.
Advise management on disciplinary matters, participate in department reporting and management review activities, and help reinforce compliance with labor laws and company policies.
Help coordinate employee communication efforts and support workplace events that encourage engagement and a strong company culture.
