Job Description We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support core HR operations for a growing organization in Fresno, California. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for an HR professional with thorough hands-on experience administering, processing, and educating employees on leaves of absence and health benefits. The successful candidate will serve as a knowledgeable resource to employees and managers while ensuring leave and benefits processes are handled accurately, timely, and in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Responsibilities: Administer and process various leaves of absence, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, PFL, workers' compensation-related leaves, and other company-approved leaves. Serve as a primary point of contact for employees throughout the leave process, providing clear guidance regarding eligibility, required documentation, timelines, and return-to-work requirements. Educate employees on health and welfare benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and other available benefit programs. Assist employees with benefits enrollment, qualifying life events, plan changes, and resolving benefit-related questions or issues. Maintain accurate and confidential leave and benefits records, ensuring documentation is complete and updated throughout the employee lifecycle. Monitor leave timelines, employee status changes, required certifications, and return-to-work dates to ensure timely follow-up and appropriate documentation. Partner with employees, managers, payroll, benefits providers, and other internal stakeholders to ensure seamless administration of leave and benefits. Update and maintain employee information in the HRIS , including leave status, benefit elections, employment changes, and other personnel data. Ensure HR processes and documentation align with company policies and applicable federal and California employment regulations. Thorough experience administering and processing leaves of absence and employee benefits. Strong working knowledge of FMLA, CFRA, PDL, PFL, and California leave requirements. Experience educating employees on health benefits and helping employees navigate benefit options and processes. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple employee cases, deadlines, and documentation simultaneously. Experience working with an HRIS and maintaining accurate employee records. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex HR policies and processes in an easy-to-understand manner. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with discretion. Previous HR Generalist, HR Specialist, Benefits Specialist, or Leave Administrator experience preferred.
