Job Description
Performs a variety of technical personnel duties relating to recruitment, selection, and job placement of gradually increasing scope and complexity, with advancing requirements of initiative and independence of action.
CURRENT VACANCY
: One full-time position (12 mos/yr, 8 hrs/day), in the Classified Human Resources Office, at the Administration Center. Position includes full district-paid benefits for the employee and dependents. Maximum District contribution to the health insurance plan is $34,732.44 per year. All GUSD jobs are in person.Note :

https://www.schooljobs.com/careers/gusd/classspecs.- Performs job analyses by auditing positions and analyzing their duties and responsibilities for purposes of test construction and validation, writes class specifications and recommends entrance requirements, completes job-related selection plans. Develops special application forms, tests, scoring standards, and rating forms.
- Contacts district personnel, potential candidates, other employers, community groups and others to obtain or impart information, request raters for examinations, answer inquiries, or explain procedures and regulations.
- Constructs tests and assembles test materials in accordance with approved plans.
- Plans and schedules examinations to provide valid lists of eligibles to meet anticipated vacancies.
- Composes or assists in composing a variety of technical written materials, including procedures, class descriptions, employment examinations, job market trend reports, and Board and Personnel Commission reports. Composes correspondence and responses to questionnaires.
- Reviews requests for transfer and other in-service transactions, certifies successful candidates to supervisors of vacant positions, and arranges for the processing of new employees.
- Reviews in-service personnel transactions for compliance with collective bargaining agreements, Personnel Commission rules and regulations, and Board of Education policies and regulations.
- May need to drive own vehicle to various sites within and outside the district to conduct work, participate in workshops, training programs, interview panels, and meetings.
- Assists with compliance of all state and federal programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements :
Six months of full-time experience as a civil service testing technician, or one year of generalist technical personnel work, or four years of increasingly complex and responsible employment coordinating the work of others.Desirable Qualifications :
- Graduation from an accredited college or university, preferably including courses in public administration, psychology, personnel management, testing, statistics, and labor relations.
- Written and oral proficiency in a second language.
License or Certificate :
A valid state of California Class C driver's license and use of a personal vehicle to visit work sites and attend meetings.Other :
- Willingness to work evenings, Saturdays, and early mornings as testing requires.

Salary amounts listed above indicate the first and last steps of the range. Probationary period : 130 days of paid service. After an offer of employment , a candidate must submit proof of freedom from tuberculosis. Also required after an offer is accepted, the candidate must complete a pre-employment physical examination and obtain fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (district-paid).
