Love live music? So do we. The Venice West is looking for a Talent Buyer / Venue Manager who knows the SoCal music scene and wants to help us grow. In this role, you'll lead our booking efforts—scouting talent, talking to agents, mapping out the calendar, and putting together offers. You'll also be on the floor about two nights a week running the venue and keeping the wheels turning during live shows. It's a mix of curation, relationship-building, and hands-on management. You'll collaborate with everyone from production to marketing to ensure every gig goes off without a hitch, from the initial contract right through to night-of payout. What You'll Do Talent Buying:
Oversee the programming and coordination of all events at The Venice West which operates six days per week. Research, develop, and submit appropriate offers to artist management, agents, and promoters. Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant artists, agents, managers, promoters, and other music industry professionals. Work closely with the Associate Talent Buyer, production, marketing, and other internal teams to ensure performances are properly coordinated and executed from initial booking through the completion of each event. Create and maintain digital performance listings and push confirmed shows to market through internal platforms and systems. Advance shows on the day of each event, ensuring artists, vendors, and other key parties arrive as scheduled and that parking, load-in, and other logistical needs are properly coordinated. Maintain accurate performance, artist, and ticketing information within internal management systems. Coordinate with venue management to ensure timely and accurate settlement of each artist and promoter following performances. Provide weekly updates to ownership and management, including calendar reviews, upcoming programming, and relevant booking activity.
Venue Management:
Lead FOH operations during assigned shifts Supervise and support bartenders, servers, barbacks, bussers and hosts Execute opening and closing procedures Handle guest issues and service recovery Monitor staffing service, cleanliness, and guest flow Support staff during high volume periods Assist with training and basic shift reporting What We're Looking For 3-5 years of experience in talent buying, event booking, artist relations, venue operations or a similar role. You genuinely love music and pay attention to what's happening in the industry. You know the Southern California music scene and have a good understanding of the local venue landscape. Existing relationships with agents, managers, promoters, and artists are a big plus. You're comfortable putting together offers and having conversations about money, guarantees, splits, and deals. You're organized and good at keeping track of a lot of moving pieces at once. You communicate well and are comfortable working with both artists and industry professionals. You can work on your own but also know how to be part of a small, busy team. You're comfortable with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Airtable a plus. High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree is a plus. You're willing to work nights, weekends, and other hours that come with working in live music. Previous management or shift-lead experience in hospitality Strong leadership, communication and guest-service skills Comfortable working in a fast passed, live-entertainment environment Compensation Approximately $70-$80k Full-time
