Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:45 PM (45-minute lunch)
Salary:
$80,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience About the Role We are looking for an organized, people-focused HR Generalist/Coordinator to join our team in Oakdale, CA. This role is central to our company's people operations — from recruiting and onboarding new employees to supporting safety, compliance, workers' compensation, quality control, and payroll processes. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who enjoys wearing multiple hats and building strong relationships across the organization. Responsibilities Employee Recruiting Create job descriptions and post open positions Review applicants, schedule interviews, and extend employment offers Coordinate new-hire drug testing as needed Manage employee onboarding Create and maintain a company apprenticeship program Employee Relations Meet with employees as needed to resolve concerns or workplace issues Serve as liaison between employees and upper management Promote a positive workplace culture that emphasizes respect, diversity, and inclusion Check in with new employees and department leads to ensure steady progress Conduct annual performance reviews Manage health insurance enrollment Coordinate Simple IRA retirement plan enrollment meetings Maintain employee write-up/disciplinary logs Conduct exit interviews, analyze data, and recommend improvements General HR Administration Update employee attendance incentive log and attendance calendar Maintain and communicate the company vacation calendar Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, regulations, and company policy Maintain and update employee handbooks and HR policies Safety Support Select weekly safety meeting topics and create attendance sheets Scan and file safety topics/updates in the safety meeting folder Update the safety bingo spreadsheet Lead new employee safety orientation Assist with new employee respirator evaluations and coordinate recertification for existing employees Workers' Compensation / First Aid Investigate incidents and communicate findings to the team Complete workers' comp forms and notify the insurance agent and relevant office staff Schedule doctor's appointments as needed Follow up with the workers' comp agent as needed Quality Control Support Update the NCR (Non-Conformance Report) log Assist with the annual AISC audit Update the employee training log Maintain and update SOP binders as needed Payroll & Compliance Reporting Maintain the current wage spreadsheet Update as needed: E-Manifest (online) Waste/Paint log DOORS Fleet annual reporting (online) Heavy Vehicle reporting (online) SAM Entity Registration CARB Clean Truck Check reporting (online) IT Serve as the in-house "go-to" resource for basic IT needs Requirements 5 years + prior experience in an HR generalist, coordinator Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Comfortable managing multiple priorities across recruiting, safety, compliance, and payroll support Proficiency with spreadsheets and online reporting portals Experience in AISC audit

$80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
