Job Description
We are looking for an experienced HR Analyst to support a government organization in Pico Rivera, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a detail-oriented human resources specialist with public sector experience who can manage leave programs, workers' compensation activity, and related risk and insurance processes with accuracy and discretion. The role requires strong knowledge of California employment regulations, sound analytical judgment, and the ability to work closely with internal teams and external partners.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee employee leave programs by reviewing eligibility, maintaining case documentation, communicating with staff, and guiding return-to-work coordination in compliance with applicable laws and policies.
- Monitor workers' compensation matters through detailed claim tracking, record upkeep, employee follow-up, and coordination with third-party administrators and insurance representatives.
- Contribute to risk management efforts by documenting workplace incidents, supporting claim resolution activities, and helping address safety and compliance-related matters.
- Assist in administering organizational insurance coverage, including workers' compensation and liability-related programs, while maintaining accurate supporting records.
- Preserve confidential HR files and related documentation for leave, claims, insurance, and risk management activities with a high degree of accuracy and discretion.
- Develop reports, spreadsheets, and data summaries that highlight trends in leave usage, claims activity, insurance matters, and potential risk exposure.
- Research California and federal employment requirements and interpret public sector policies to support compliant HR decision-making.
- Collaborate with HR, payroll, benefits, managers, legal advisors, carriers, and external vendors to ensure timely handling of employee and organizational matters.
- Support audits, compliance assessments, and required reporting for governmental agencies or insurance-related reviews.
- Provide additional HR analytical and administrative assistance as business needs evolve.
