Description Robert Half is seeking an experienced HR People Specialist for a 3-4+ month contract opportunity with one of our top clients in San Mateo. Our client is a Bay Area nonprofit behavioral health organization. They provide a range of behavioral health and supportive services designed to help individuals build stability, independence, and fulfilling lives. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional with experience supporting the employee lifecycle, onboarding, HRIS data, and day-to-day employee support. Responsibilities

+ Coordinate and facilitate new-hire orientations and employee training initiatives.

+ Manage the end-to-end onboarding process, including background checks, I-9 completion, new-hire paperwork, employee communications, and HRIS data entry.

+ Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and conduct routine HR data audits.

+ Process employment verification requests and prepare recurring and ad hoc HR reports.

+ Support HR data privacy, confidentiality, and compliance requirements.

+ Serve as a primary point of contact for employee HR questions and provide timely guidance or escalate issues when appropriate.

+ Partner with the HR team to ensure a smooth and positive employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle. Requirements Qualifications + 2-4 years of HR experience, preferably within HR Operations or an HR Generalist/HR Coordinator environment.

+ Hands-on experience supporting the employee lifecycle, including onboarding and offboarding.

+ Strong understanding of I-9s, background checks, employee documentation, and HR data management.

+ Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential employee information.

+ Excellent communication and customer-service skills.

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced HR environment.

+ Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required.

+ Experience with Paycom is a plus, but not required.
