Job Summary The Leave Specialist coordinates the hospitals Leave of Absence program. Assist with benefits and workers compensation program as needed. What You'll Bring to the
Team:
Knowledge of Federal and State Employment laws and Leave laws, including ADA, FMLA, CFRA, and CA PDL and PFL. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations. Knowledge of California Workers' Compensation and applicable laws, codes, rules and regulations to include regulatory agencies governing Workers' Compensation insurance programs. Knowledge of legal terminology related to Workers' Compensation and federal regulations. Knowledge of integration of leaves and benefits. Knowledge of principles, practices, procedures and techniques used to research, analyze and process data. Knowledge of record-keeping and report preparation techniques. Knowledge of health and safety regulations. Demonstrated judgment and confidentiality in handling private employee information. Excellent grammar, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize and resolve conflict when necessary. Strong problem solving skills.
Licensure and Certification:
N/A Education:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school supplemented by two years of college-level course work in business, human resources or a related field .
Experience:
Minimum three (3) to five (5) years experience in leave administration, including workers' compensation.
