Join Our Team! Corporation for Public Management (CPM) is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Human Resources Assistant to support the Human Resources Department. This position serves as the first point of contact for employees and applicants while assisting with daily HR operations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and personnel record management. Position Summary The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team. This role assists with onboarding, employee records, recruitment, benefits, payroll support, compliance, and general HR functions while ensuring a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Recruitment & Onboarding Assist with posting job openings on various job boards. Schedule interviews and communicate with applicants. Coordinate pre-employment screenings and background checks. Prepare offer letters and onboarding documents. Conduct new hire paperwork and orientation. Ensure all new hire documentation is completed accurately. Human Resources Administration Maintain employee personnel files and electronic records. Process employment status changes. Prepare employment verification letters. Assist with unemployment claims and employment verifications. Maintain HR databases and filing systems. Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures. Benefits Administration Assist employees with benefit enrollment. Process benefit changes due to qualifying life events. Maintain benefit records. Coordinate with insurance vendors regarding employee coverage. Payroll Support Assist with reviewing employee time records. Process employee status changes affecting payroll. Maintain payroll documentation. Support payroll processing as needed. Employee Relations Assist with employee recognition and engagement activities. Coordinate employee training sessions. Maintain confidentiality regarding employee matters. Assist with documentation for investigations and corrective actions. Support HR with employee communications. Compliance Maintain I-9 documentation. Assist with FMLA and leave administration. Track required employee training and certifications. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies. Maintain OSHA and other compliance records as assigned. General Administrative Duties Answer HR phone calls and emails. Greet employees and visitors professionally. Schedule meetings and maintain calendars. Order office and HR supplies. Assist with special HR projects. Perform other duties as assigned.
