Job Description

The Human Resources (HR) Support Specialist will provide administrative support to all members of the HR department, including the wellness, benefits, talent development, recruiting teams and HR management. This person is the front door to the company and will greet applicants, new associates and guests. He or she will also assist the recruitment team with new hire orientation. The Support Specialist is responsible for administering the service anniversary program, the industry education luncheon and other recognition programs. The individual will also provide support to the Communications and Events Coordinator with planning a variety of company functions and home office events, including United Way and ArtsWave campaigns and the company picnic. The person in this position will work closely with the wellness team on wellness programming as well as community service/volunteer events. This involves reserving conference rooms, ordering catering and scheduling events.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING
Associate degree required Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • continuous interaction with all levels of associates and outside contacts Highly professional demeanor and need for confidentiality Ability to multi-task Priorities management skills
  • must be organized and able to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines Ability to be a team player
  • the volume of work in area and limited staff size requires flexibility and assistance to all others of the HR team.
The individual must be willing to help out in any area of the department when the need arises No relatives employed by Ohio National Industry designations LOMA 281and 291 within first year of hire
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This position requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
