Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Human Resources / Payroll Coordinator to support our HR and payroll operations. This role is responsible for processing and auditing payroll and benefits, supporting recruitment and onboarding, maintaining employee records, ensuring compliance with state and local labor laws, and assisting with fleet and timekeeping management. The ideal candidate is dependable, highly confidential, and comfortable handling multiple administrative and HR responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Onboarding Write and post job descriptions Source, screen, and coordinate interviews for candidates Onboarding new employees Maintain onboarding documentation and employee files Payroll & Compensation Process payroll accurately and on time Calculate employee wages, salaries, overtime, and benefits Manage payroll deductions, including taxes and other withholdings Enter, verify, and reconcile payroll data Assist with annual filings, audits, and payroll reporting Act as a point of contact for employee payroll questions Benefits Administration Administer employee benefits programs, including health benefits Assist employees with benefits enrollment and questions Compliance & Record-Keeping Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential employee records Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and labor laws Stay current on Human Resources and payroll regulations Support audits and compliance reviews as needed Employee Relations Address employee questions and concerns professionally Assist with disciplinary actions and conflict resolution Support positive employee relations and workplace culture Policy & HR Support Assist management with implementing HR policies and procedures Create and maintain HR forms and systems Support general HR administrative functions Fleet & Timekeeping Management Track and ensure proper use of company vehicles and routes Monitor employee timekeeping system usage for accuracy Ensure compliance with company policies related to fleet and time tracking Qualifications Previous experience in Human Resources and/or Payroll required Knowledge of payroll processing, benefits administration, and labor laws Strong organizational and time management skills High level of confidentiality and professionalism Proficiency with payroll systems and HR software Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications HR or Payroll certification (a plus) Experience with timekeeping systems and fleet tracking Familiarity with state and local employment regulations Proficiency in Spanish required to effectively communicate with Spanish-speaking employees Benefits Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Pay starting at $25.00 based on experience.
