Human Resources Generalist
Job Description
Job Overview:
The HR Generalist supports daily HR operations, administers core processes, policies, procedures, and programs, and serves as a trusted resource for employees and management. Key responsibilities include departmental development, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), employee relations, staffing, and general employment inquiries.
Essential Duties:
Coordinates core HR activities throughout the employee lifecycle, from recruiting, hiring, and onboarding through separation.
Support benefits, leave and accommodations, payroll, compliance, and employment-related administrative processes as needed.
Investigates and addresses employee concerns thoroughly and objectively, within the scope of employee relations, asking appropriate questions while evaluating responses; recommends solutions and follows up as needed. Partners with Sr. HRBP on suggested resolutions as needed.
Assist new employees with onboarding, registering in ADP and timeclocks.
Ensures adherence to Pet Supermarket Opportunity for improvement (OFI) standards and tracks opportunities for employee performance, behavior and/or attendance, as needed
Provides management and employees with information and interpretation of federal, state and company human resource policies, rules and procedures
Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures including updating the Employee Handbook.
Manage HR related projects and initiatives as required
Guide and coach leaders and employees on performance management, employee relations, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, talent development, and succession planning.
Coordinate or facilitate training on HR policies, processes, and tools.
Maintains strict confidentiality of client, company, and employee information.
Experience & Education:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource administration or related field preferred A minimum of 2 years of HR Generalist experience or progressive core HR experience Strong understanding of all HR functions: specifically, regulations and legal requirements applying to employment Must be knowledgeable in employment law, ADA and EEO regulations, workers' compensation, and OSHA law.
