Job Summary The HR - Classification and Compensation Specialist provides operational support for the College's compensation and classification programs. This role analyzes job duties, assists in assigning appropriate classifications and pay grades, conducts market research and salary benchmarking, and helps ensure consistent and equitable pay practices across the organization. The HR-Compensation and Classification Specialist position plays a key role in supporting the successful growth and development of the expanding HR service platform including initiatives that help set the foundation for a supportive, positive culture. Responsibilities Assess and recommend appropriate pay grades to positions based on job duties, reporting structure, and market-based pay scales to maintain fair and competitive compensation Review job descriptions to identify key duties, responsibilities, and required qualifications to accurately recommend classifications for positions. Recommend placement of new hires within pay ranges based on established guidelines and procedures Conduct salary surveys and benchmark positions against industry standards; Review salary surveys to gather data on comparable positions from various data sources Assist and collaborate in the planning, coordination, facilitation, administration, and reporting of the annual salary surveys Support the administration of salary increases, promotions, and compensation adjustments in accordance with established policies and approval processes Maintain accurate classification and compensation data in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Provide operational guidance on day-to-day compensation and classification matters as well as policy interpretation, while ensuring compliance with institutional standards and state and federal law Gather and organize data, generate basic reports, and other various initiatives as assigned by the Associate Director of Classification and Compensation Required Qualifications 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree in a related field 2-3 years of relevant experience Preferred Qualifications Experience with HRIS systems Experience in Higher Ed 2-3 years of experience at the HR Generalist or Specialist level Proposed Salary 50,700 - 63,300 Salary offer will be dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications, internal equity considerations, budget availability, and salary administration guidelines.
