The HR Generalist provides critical employment and operational support within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you will support hourly bargaining unit employees, assist with day-to-day employment functions, facilitate onboarding, and support labor relations and engagement initiatives to ensure efficient plant operations and a positive workforce experience.
Responsibilities:
Administer hourly employment functions, workforce planning, and staffing processes in accordance with corporate policies and collective bargaining agreements. Manage day-to-day employment office operations, including leave tracking, reinstatements, employee inquiry resolution, and records maintenance. Implement onboarding and orientation sessions for new hourly employees. Support lean manufacturing methodologies and drive employee engagement initiatives to cultivate a positive workplace culture. Assist with the administration of national and local labor contracts, maintaining open communication with employees, management, and union representatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (recent college graduates welcome to apply). Minimum 1 year of experience in Human Resources or a related field. Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends, and support two local facilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field. Prior HR experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or unionized environment. Ability to effectively interact and build rapport with all levels of staff, management, and labor representatives.
