SUMMARY A-1
Electrical Contractors, Inc. is seeking a Recruiting and Onboarding Specialist to manage hiring and new-hire onboarding across the company. Under the supervision of the Human Resources Manager, the Specialist sources and screens candidates, coordinates interviews with hiring managers, completes pre-employment and employment eligibility requirements, and delivers new-hire orientation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Sourcing and Postings:
Create and post job requisitions; source candidates through the applicant tracking system, job boards, job fairs, trade and technical schools, apprenticeship programs, and employee referrals; manage and monitor recruiting campaigns. ?
Applicant Flow and Screening:
Review applications against job requirements, conduct pre-interview phone screens, and make certain every applicant is contacted and updated on the status of their application. ?
Interview Coordination:
Meet with hiring managers regularly to identify hiring needs, schedule interviews and shop or jobsite walk-throughs, participate in interviews, and give interviewers feedback. Hiring decisions remain with the hiring manager. ?
Credentialing and Background:
Conduct reference and background checks, schedule drug and alcohol testing, and verify Louisiana journeyman and apprentice licenses, municipal registrations, MVR, and OSHA and other safety certifications. ?
Offers and Compliance:
Prepare and extend offer letters within approved ranges; complete Form I-9 and process E-Verify submissions within required timeframes; apply EEO and ADA requirements consistently; support prevailing wage, Davis-Bacon, and apprenticeship ratio reporting. ?
Onboarding and Orientation:
Schedule and conduct new employee orientations covering policies, pay and timekeeping, benefits enrollment, and safety; coordinate the pre-first-day checklist for badge and access, PPE and tools, uniforms, IT, and jobsite reporting; enroll new hires in payroll, benefits, and apprenticeship programs. ?
Reporting and Pipeline:
Prepare recruiting reports on time-to-fill, source-of-hire, open requisition status, and turnover; build candidate pipeline and trade school relationships ahead of need. ? Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
? Two or more years of recruiting, human resources coordination, or onboarding experience, or an associate level degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. High school diploma or equivalent required. ? Working knowledge of employment law and hiring compliance, including EEO, ADA, FLSA, FMLA, and I-9/E-Verify requirements. ? Knowledge of construction and electrical trade terminology, job classifications, licensing, and apprenticeship structures. ? Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, and experience with applicant tracking and HRIS/payroll systems. ? Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize multiple open requisitions and onboarding files in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Must be organized and detail oriented. ? Pleasant phone demeanor and good customer service skills, and the ability to work with employees, management, and applicants while abiding by company policies. Must exercise discretion and maintain strict confidentiality. ? Must comply with a criminal background check and drug test, and hold a valid driver's license with an insurable driving record. ?
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent certification; and recruiting experience in construction, skilled trades, or another field-based workforce.
POSITION AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
? This position works in an office setting 90% of the time and at jobsites, schools, or hiring events 10% of the time. Regular attendance is an essential function. ? Regularly required to sit and view a computer monitor for extended periods, and to stand, walk, use hands and arms, talk, and hear. Lifting up to 25 lbs occurs occasionally. ? Some duties may be performed outside in the elements on a job site, which may include exposure to water, dust, dirt, and equipment noise, and require the use of company-issued
PPE. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
