General Description:
The Franklin Public Schools, a Prek-12 district, is seeking a skilled and experienced special education assistant to work at the Franklin Middle School. The assistant will work in a model of service delivery offering academic support in the general education classrooms combined with specialized learning instruction for small groups and individuals. Students requiring assistance and support have mild to moderate disabilities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide positive behavior supports and academic interventions for students
Work with lead teacher to provide academic, social, and emotional support and intervention
Work collaboratively with the team of general education and special education teachers and therapists
Collect data
Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher or ParaPro Certification
Experience in public school setting
Experience working with students with disabilities
Able to take initiative and work independently
Must successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprinting screening (CHRI)
