posting for current City of Springfield employees only.•The City of Springfield is seeking an experienced candidate with a collaborative approach and excellent attention to detail for the position of HRIS & Payroll Specialist. The HRIS & Payroll Specialist is a key position in the City of Springfield Human Resources department with responsibility for daily payroll processes and the data integrity of new, current, and former employees' HRMS records. Our HRIS and Payroll team takes pride in ensuring each payroll cycle is processed correctly, understanding it affects 2,000+ employees on a bi-weekly basis. The ideal candidate for the HRIS & Payroll Specialist position will have the following skills and attributes: Excel in and enjoy detailed work Perform various payroll calculations Research and investigate problems and recommend solutions Collaborate with the Information Systems department to review, test, and implement HRMS system changes and upgrades Advanced knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and formulas The City offers an excellent comprehensive benefits package, including a generous leave program and a City-paid pension benefit. Experience, Education, and Training Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree, supplemented by one year of professional experience in HRIS, payroll functions, or HR reporting and analytics. OR Applicable responsible experience in HRIS, payroll functions, or HR reporting and analytics may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the education requirement. Preferred Oracle HRMS experience, bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Public or Business Administration, and experience participating in projects, determining timelines and action plans.
