Job Description

Job Purpose:
The HR Generalist at our automotive dealership plays an important role in supporting the onsite HR Manager in administering Impex's human resources functions. The position contributes to Impex's people strategy through HR operations and compliance, compensation and leave support, performance management, training, employee experience, employee relations, and retention, with consistent delivery of high-quality, engaging, effective, and efficient HR communications, programs, and services. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated strong command of HR principles and best practices for growing companies in the private sector, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle various tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Job Summary:
Primarily engaged in and responsible for Impex's day-to-day human resources operations, compliance support, employee experience, training, compensation and leave support, workforce administration, employee records, employee relations, performance management, and other departmental administrative responsibilities. This role requires a pleasant demeanor and the ability to consistently organize, prioritize, perform, and timely deliver moderate-to-highly complex HR work with a high level of accuracy, service, and quality.
Reporting:
This position reports directly to the onsite HR Manager. There are no direct reports to this position.
Key Responsibilities:
This highly responsible administrative position performs the following essential functions: HR Operations, Compliance & Employee Support Serves as a main point of contact for day-to-day HR operations, programs, and services. Provides guidance and assistance to employees and management regarding HR policies, procedures, practices, and general employment matters. Through analysis, research, and observation of jobs performed, creates and updates job descriptions to accurately reflect each position's current requirements, responsibilities, and working conditions. Researches and compiles external and internal compensation data for competitive benchmarking, providing reports and analyses to the HR Manager and HR Executive Consultant. Utilizes HRIS systems at an advanced level for employee data management, reporting, analytics, and HR processes; appropriately uses AI technologies to enhance productivity. Supports the accurate and timely administration and documentation of employee status changes, compensation changes, leaves, and other personnel actions. Supports HR compliance activities, audits, required notices, and documentation consistent with applicable federal, state, and local requirements and company policies. Establishes and maintains professional relationships with employees, colleagues, managers, customers, and vendors. Coordinates employee communications and HR service delivery to help ensure employees receive accurate information, appropriate assistance, and timely follow-through. Provides professional, courteous, and timely acknowledgement of, response to, follow up, and resolution for inquiries from employees, vendors, and management. Serves as a point of contact for employee relations, including general employment information, complaints, concerns, or other employment-related matters. Provides guidance and direction to employees and management regarding employee relations including coaching and performance management. Conducts complaint intake meetings with employees and prepares case file for HR Manager's review. Conducts thorough and comprehensive investigations under the guidance of HR Manager. Keeps HR Manager consistently informed of all employee-related activity. Assists with the creation of programs for performance coaching and evaluation, for employee communications, and for receiving employee feedback and input. Facilitates (and/or arranges for the facilitation of) training and professional development programs for employees in various positions. Develops and implements activities and programs that support positive employee experiences, engagement, and retention. Implements all related programs. Administrative Functions Processes, reports, scans, files, and tracks HR data, personnel records, and employee relations documentation. Assists in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of pay and workforce management plans. Assists Impex in ensuring a dignified exit for all separating employees during the offboarding process. Maintains accurate and current employee records, handling confidential information with utmost discretion. Facilitates internal communication regarding HR policies, announcements, and updates. Keeps updated on the latest federal, state, and local regulations, trends, and best practices in human resources and employment management. Provides support to employees on HR-related topics such as leaves, compensation, policies, and workplace procedures, and assists in resolving issues that may arise. Provides assistance and support to other HR colleagues and team. Provides additional assistance to the HR Manager by performing other HR-related duties as requested. Minimum Required Qualifications (MRQ): Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business administration, or a closely-related field. Three (3) years of documented successful hands-on experience performing progressively responsible HR Generalist work, including employee relations, performance management, HR operations, employment-law compliance, compensation and leave support, training, employee records, and HRIS administration; must also have broad knowledge of human resources functions gained as part of an HR department or team. Expertise in utilizing HRIS platforms for efficient employee data management, reporting, analytics, and HR operations. Strong organizational, communication, prioritization, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge and understanding of related federal, state, and local employment and wage and hour laws. Strong command of HR principles, processes, and best practices for delivering efficient and effective operations and for providing positive employee experiences. Ability to consistently, effectively, and timely deliver high-quality work in a professional manner within a fast-paced auto dealership environment.
Working Conditions:
This role involves working in an office setting within the auto dealership in Greensboro, NC, requiring interaction with various departments and occasional involvement in dealership events. Vehicle travel between Impex locations is also required from time to time.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Lifting up to 20 pounds. Hiring Range:
Up to $50,000 annualized for highly qualified candidates.
Pay:
$45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
