Job Description

Kellex , a recognized leader in American Furniture manufacturing with plants in Valdese, N.C and Tupelo, Miss. is seeking an exceptional people-focused professional to join our Human Resources team. For more than 30 years, Kellex has grown from a small office above a garage in Ohio into a strong American manufacturer. Throughout that growth, our commitment has remained centered on people, supporting families through meaningful employment while providing our customers with outstanding quality and service. We are looking for someone who genuinely loves serving people , has extraordinary communication skills, and understands that every interaction with an associate or candidate represents Kellex and our culture. Position Summary Reporting to the Director of Human Resources and Safety, the Associate Relations and Talent Specialist will play a key role in creating an exceptional experience for both prospective and current Kellex associates. The primary focus of this position will be recruiting, hiring, onboarding, associate communication, and building strong relationships throughout the the organization. Primary Responsibilities Recruiting and Talent Acquisition ( Focus will be on this function and occupy over 50% of the person's time.)
  • Lead and coordinate recruiting activities throughout the organization.
  • Develop relationships with candidates and provide an exceptional candidate experience from first contact through hiring.
  • Post positions, review applications, coordinate interviews, communicate with candidates, and support hiring managers throughout the selection process.
  • Develop creative approaches to attract high-quality candidates.
  • Build relationships with local schools, colleges, workforce organizations, and community resources to strengthen Kellex's talent pipeline.
  • Ensure candidates receive timely, professional, and respectful communication through the hiring process. Project Coordination acting as a point of contact for cross-departmental projects, ensuring alignment and smooth collaboration. Associate Relations and Communication
  • Serve as a trusted, approachable resource for associates.
  • Help ensure associates understand company policies, benefits, programs procedures, and available resources.
  • Listen carefully to associate questions, concerns, and ideas and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Communicate associate feedback and emerging workplace concerns to HR and management.
  • Help strengthen communication between associates and leadership.
  • Support a positive, respectful, and engaging workplace culture. Associate Experience and Engagement
  • Help create programs and activities that improve the associate experience.
  • Gather associate feedback, identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Participate in efforts related to associate recognition, communication, engagement, and retention.
  • Support HR initiatives, training programs, and organizational communications.
  • Assist with special projects that improve the way Kellex serves its associates. Qualifications The successful candidate will have:
  • A minimum of five years of progressive Human Resources experience, with meaningful experience in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and associate relations.
  • A college degree is strongly preferred, preferably in HR, Business, Communication or related field.
  • A background in or knowledge of furniture manufacturing
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Genuine love for serving, helping, and engaging with people.
  • Ability to build trust and strong relationships with associates, candidates, supervisors, and management.
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, empathy, honesty, and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of HR practices, employment policies, and applicable labor and employment laws.
  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude and strong desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives and work experience of others.
