Job Description

The Case Management Specialist is responsible for conducting fair, thorough, timely, and objective workplace investigations across North America. This role serves as a centralized subject matter expert and partner to Human Resources, Legal, Employee Relations, Compliance, and business leaders to ensure allegations of misconduct are investigated consistently and in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. The Case Management Specialist independently manages a broad range of employee relations and ethics matters, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace conduct, policy violations, conflicts of interest, and other sensitive concerns. The role is responsible for maintaining high-quality documentation, delivering defensible findings, helping drive organizational consistency and risk mitigation. Key Responsibilities Conduct Investigations Independently manage end-to-end workplace investigations from intake through resolution Conduct interviews with complainants, witnesses, and accused individuals Gather and assess relevant evidence including documentation, communications, policies, and employment records Evaluate credibility and conflicting information using a fact-based, objective approach Develop findings and recommendations supported by documented evidence Case Management & Documentation Maintain accurate, complete, and timely investigation records Prepare investigation summaries and findings documents Ensure investigations meet established service level expectations and quality standards Manage competing priorities and case volumes while maintaining quality and consistency Partnership & Consultation Partner with HR Business Partners, Compliance, Legal, Asset Protection, and business leaders throughout investigations Provide consultation regarding investigation strategy, risk mitigation, and policy interpretation Facilitate case review discussions and recommendations regarding outcomes Risk Identification & Trend Analysis Escalate high-risk matters appropriately Support reporting efforts related to case volume, aging, trends, and outcomes Contribute insights that drive proactive prevention and manager education efforts Quality & Continuous Improvement Ensure investigations are conducted in alignment with company standards and established procedures Support investigation calibration activities and quality reviews Assist in developing investigation tools, templates, and best practices Participate in training and ongoing capability building within the COE Scope of Investigations The Case Management Specialist may support matters including: Harassment and discrimination, retaliation concerns, workplace conduct violations, respect in the workplace concerns, ethics and compliance allegations, conflict of interest matters, workplace violence concerns, employee misconduct investigations, policy violations and escalated employee relations matters Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree 3-5+ years of experience conducting workplace investigations, employee relations, compliance, legal, labor relations, HRBP, or related work Demonstrated experience interviewing employees and assessing conflicting information Strong written communication and documentation skills Ability to manage highly confidential and sensitive information Strong judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making capabilities Ability to balance speed, quality, consistency, and risk management Preferred Employee relations, investigations, compliance, labor relations, or HR specialization experience Experience supporting multi-state and/or Canadian employee populations Bilingual Spanish speaker Experience with case management systems and investigation tracking tools SHRM, HRCI, or investigation-related certifications Critical Competencies Business Acumen Understands organizational priorities and assesses employee relations concerns in broader business context Objectivity & Courage Approaches sensitive situations with neutrality, professionalism, and integrity while addressing difficult issues directly Investigative Excellence Applies structured investigative methodologies to gather facts, assess evidence, and develop defensible conclusions Communication Builds trust through thoughtful questioning, active listening, and clear written documentation Risk Assessment Recognizes organizational, legal, and reputational risk and escalates appropriately Continuous Improvement Identifies opportunities to improve consistency, effectiveness, and efficiency across the investigations function This position is located at our Global Home Office in Columbus, OH.
