JOB DESCRIPTION
Process 4.1
Basic Function:
4.1.1 Responsible for providing support to the Human Resources Manager as it relates to the personnel function. Performs a variety of personnel activities to enhance and sustain positive employee relations in an employee involved environment. Provides for continuous improvement of employee's basic work skills, implement and coordinate employee involvement improvement activities. 4.2
Specific Duties:
Master files are stored electronically and are available to all team members. Printed copies of the master files are for reference only. 4.2.1 Recruits, screens, interviews, and performs background checks. Refers qualified hourly and salaried applicants to appropriate management personnel to maintain a quality work force geared to our progressive employment philosophy. 4.2.2 Assists the Human Resource Manager in planning and organizing new employee orientation program. Works with the Human Resource Manager to promote involvement throughout the plant. 4.2.3 Orients new hourly and salaried employees to the plant policies, procedures, regulations, and fringe benefits including medical insurance and pension systems to assure that they understand conditions and benefits of employment. 4.2.4 Assists in developing and writing policies and procedures affecting hourly and salary employees. 4.2.5 Administers on a daily basis the benefits program including employee inquiries, problem resolution and data compilation. 4.2.6 Administers and maintains FMLA and STD in accordance with company policy and regulations. 4.2.7 Identifies, coordinates, and evaluates necessary training and employee involvement activities that support plant goal accomplishments. 4.2.8 Maintains confidentiality on employee-related issues while notifying only those in a need-to know capacity. 4.2.9 Coordinates with other managers and supervisors to ensure the effective implementation of the H.R. Department's policies. 4.2.10 Responsible for applying corrective and preventative action when discrepancies are detected. 4.2.11 Engages in safe practices as well as follows safety rules and job rotations. 4.2.12 Must be willing to report unsafe conditions, reporting unsafe acts, participating in safety/ergonomic committees, participating in safety Kaizen events, participating in blue sky initiatives, participating in safety audits, and participating in safety observation feedback events. 4.2.13 Assist the plant in achieving safety goals while achieving and maintaining Safe Workplace and Environmental and Sustainability objectives. 4.2.14 Performs other duties deemed necessary by the Human Resources Manager. 4.2.15 Reviews and understands Customer Specific Requirements
