I am a 65-year-old man living with cerebral palsy and quadriplegia. Also, my speech is impaired. I employ a team of personal care attendants who provide 24/7 physical support. I am seeking a dependable, experienced, organized person to serve as a Care Team Manager to help coordinate staff and handle scheduling. No personal attendant/caregiver responsibilities are associated with this position.
Responsibilities:
Assist me with recruiting, hiring and on-boarding new attendants as needed. In consultation with me, help establish and enforce performance standards for attendants. Ensure that shifts are covered and there is continuity of attendant service. Facilitate positive communication between attendants and create a coordinated team environment for my care. In partnership with me, help troubleshoot and resolve any scheduling or staffing conflicts that may arise. Be a first point of contact for caregivers if urgent issues arise. This may include medical emergencies as well as staff scheduling situations. Communicate with me weekly to confirm everything is running smoothly, or if there are any recruiting/hiring or other staffing issues that need to be resolved.
Qualifications:
Basic business skills including recruiting, hiring/firing, staff management, scheduling, coordination and conflict facilitation. Experience in healthcare / social services or caregiving coordination is helpful but not required. Reliable, organized, and good communicator (email and face-to-face). Must respect and advocate for my independence and status as head of household. Work in close coordination with and advocate for me. The ability (patience) to listen and learn to understand my speech is critical.
