Key Responsibilities (Client-Facing HR Support)Client Partnership & HR Advisory Serve as the primary HR point of contact for assigned clients, providing ongoing guidance across the employee lifecycle (hire to separation). Build strong client relationships through proactive communication, reliable follow-through, and practical solutions. Support client leadership teams with HR best practices, policy interpretation, and day-to-day decision-making. Maintain organized client files and documentation to ensure accurate, compliant recordkeeping. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Support end-to-end recruiting for client roles (job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and coordination) using ATS platforms (e.g., iCIMS, Taleo, JazzHR, or similar). Draft and/or customize offer letters and onboarding documentation (as applicable), and ensure smooth onboarding execution. Coordinate new-hire setup across HRIS/payroll/benefits platforms in partnership with client leadership. Employee Relations & Performance Management Guide clients through employee relations matters with professionalism, discretion, and appropriate documentation. Support performance management efforts including coaching conversations, corrective action, performance improvement plans (PIPs), and separation planning. Help clients manage workplace conflict, attendance issues, investigations support (as directed), and escalation pathways. Compliance & HR Administration Support compliance across federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (multi-jurisdiction exposure strongly preferred). Assist clients with policy development and handbook updates, including required postings and compliance training coordination. Help manage leave administration workflows (e.g., sick leave, CFRA/FMLA coordination as applicable), interactive process support, and documentation tracking. Support OSHA/IIPP/WVPP-related coordination and general HR compliance practices as relevant to client scope. Benefits & Payroll Coordination (Client Support Role) Partner with brokers and benefits platforms to support client open enrollment, eligibility updates, employee questions, and benefits administration processes. Support workers' compensation claims coordination and general case documentation. Coordinate with client payroll systems (e.g., Paychex, ADP, Gusto, Paylocity, Workday) to ensure HR changes are communicated accurately and timely (role is not "payroll processor," but often supports the workflow and accuracy). Process payroll, as needed, for clients. HR Projects & Implementation Support Support HR projects such as HRIS implementations, timekeeping rollouts, compensation benchmarking support, job description development, org chart updates, and process improvement. Create templates, toolkits, and client-ready documentation to improve consistency and client experience. Deliver or coordinate trainings on policies, compliance topics, manager fundamentals, and HR workflows. Experience & Qualifications 3+ years of experience in HR generalist, HR operations, or HR consulting (client-facing experience strongly preferred). Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices; multi-state exposure is a plus. Strong documentation skills and comfort handling sensitive/confidential information with discretion. Experience working with HRIS/payroll/benefits platforms (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Gusto, Paylocity, Workday, UltiPro/UKG, or similar). Familiarity with ATS platforms and recruiting coordination. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to advise clients clearly and tactfully. Highly organized, responsive, and able to manage multiple clients, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously. What Success Looks Like Clients feel supported, informed, and confident in HR decisions.
