The Human Resources Staffing Specialist serves as a key support position within the Office of Human Resources, providing customer service, staffing support, onboarding assistance, and employment processing support for licensed and non-licensed staff. This position requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Answer and manage the Office of Human Resources main telephone line. Assist visitors and answer the Edison Building door security system. Serve as a contact person for applicants, employees, hiring managers, and community members. Respond to questions regarding employment processes, district procedures, bargaining unit agreements, and district policies. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality while handling sensitive information. Take full ownership of assigned staffing areas. Maintain and update the online application database. Assist interview committees throughout the hiring process. Review licensed and non-licensed candidate applications for qualifications, licensure, and experience. Research and learn PELSB licensing policies and requirements. Prepare employment documents, onboarding checklists, and salary placements. Communicate employment decisions to selected and non-selected candidates. Post internal and external job vacancies. Participate in staffing and assignment processes. Calculate and verify salaries for new hires and employee transfers. Process criminal background checks for student teachers, interns, and other applicable individuals. Complete onboarding data entry including protected information, key fob access, and I-9 employment verification. Assist with employee photos and identification badge production. Process replacement ID badge and key fob requests. Present contract and employment information during new employee orientation. Maintain and update employee records within Skyward Qmlativ. Process employment verification requests. Receive, sort, and distribute Human Resources mail. Draft letters, memos, and correspondence related to employment, assignments, payroll, and applicant status. Assist in updating application forms and employment-related documents. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Human Resources Manager and/or Executive Director of Human Resources.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information. Ability to manage interruptions and refocus effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated professionalism and dependability. Regular, on-time attendance. Working knowledge of Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Willingness to learn Skyward Qmlativ software.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
One year of Human Resources experience is preferred. Experience working in education, staffing, recruitment, or employee onboarding. Experience with HRIS systems or applicant tracking systems.REQUIRED DISPOSITIONS
