Job Description

Sr. HR Generalist Are you an HR professional, that is looking for an opportunity to step into a true Sr. HR Generalist position where you'll own recruiting, lead key HR functions, and help improve and evolve HR operations across a growing organization? StaffBuffalo is working with a family-owned, multi-entity organization seeking a Senior HR Generalist to support employees and leadership across a multi-state and US/Canadian workforce. With an annual salary paying between $70,000 - $90,000/year ; this role offers broad exposure across all areas of HR, including recruiting, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, payroll support, leaves of absence, onboarding, engagement initiatives, and process improvement. This is a hybrid role, located in the Northtown's of Buffalo, NY. Responsibilities Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts, including sourcing, screening, interviewing coordination, and onboarding support Partner closely with hiring managers and business leaders to understand staffing needs and provide recruiting guidance Support employee relations matters, coaching conversations, investigations, progressive discipline, and manager support Administer leaves of absence, including FMLA, PFL, disability, and return-to-work coordination with third-party vendors Serve as a primary resource for benefits administration, employee questions, and annual open enrollment activities Audit multi-state payroll for accuracy and provide backup payroll support as needed Maintain HRIS data integrity and support reporting within ADP Workforce Now or similar systems Assist with onboarding, I-9 verification, personnel file maintenance, and HR compliance initiatives Support employee engagement, wellness initiatives, recognition programs, and employee surveys Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and improve operational efficiency across the department Collaborate with leadership and HR team members on broader HR projects, policy updates, and organizational initiatives Qualifications 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including strong Generalist experience Hands-on experience with full-cycle recruiting and talent acquisition Strong understanding of employee relations, leaves of absence, payroll support, and HR compliance Experience supporting multi-state workforces required; exposure to Canadian employment practices is a strong plus Comfortable working in fast-paced environments where processes are continuing to evolve and improve Strong coaching, communication, and relationship-building skills across all levels of an organization Experience handling investigations, progressive discipline, and complex employee situations professionally and confidently Familiarity with HRIS systems such as ADP Workforce Now or similar platforms Manufacturing, multi-site, or operational industry experience strongly preferred Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification is a plus
