ONBOARDING SPECIALIST JOB SUMMARY
The Onboarding Specialist supports facility-wide employee engagement, onboarding, and retention initiatives designed to create a positive employee experience and strengthen workforce culture. This role partners with Human Resources, and Operations Leadership to support new hire integration, employee recognition, communication, engagement events, retention programs, and employee feedback efforts. The Onboarding Specialist serves as a resource to the onboarding team by helping coordinate programs, tracking engagement activities, supporting retention efforts, and ensuring employees remain connected to company resources and culture throughout their employment journey
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee Engagement & Retention Coordinate and support employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and retention initiatives. Assist with planning and execution of employee appreciation events, new hire graduations, milestone celebrations, town halls, and site-wide engagement activities. Conduct employee check-ins, stay interviews, and feedback conversations to identify engagement opportunities and retention risks. Support HR initiatives designed to improve employee morale, communication, and workplace culture. Assist with employee surveys, engagement action plans, and follow-up activities. Partner with Human Resources and department leaders to promote company values and employee involvement. Onboarding Program Support Provide administrative and program support to other Onboarding Coordinators and the facility onboarding process. Monitor onboarding metrics, retention trends, and engagement indicators. Assist in coordinating new hire orientations, graduation programs, and onboarding-related activities. Support onboarding coordinators with communication, scheduling, reporting, and special projects. Help ensure new hires are connected with available resources and support systems during their transition into the organization. Track 30-, 60-, and 90-day retention data and provide reports to HR leadership. Communication & Culture Develop and distribute employee communication materials related to engagement and recognition programs. Promote participation in company-sponsored programs, community involvement, and employee development opportunities. Serve as a resource for employee concerns, questions, and feedback while partnering with HR for resolution. Support initiatives that foster a culture of respect, inclusion, teamwork, and accountability. Administrative Responsibilities Maintain employee engagement calendars and event schedules. Track participation and effectiveness of engagement programs. Prepare reports related to retention, engagement, recognition, and onboarding activities. Assist with budget tracking and vendor coordination for engagement events. Support People Pillar initiatives and other HR projects as assigned. EOE/Vet/Disabled
